Gaming — Player’s Paradise

We’ve created a giant play zone for our attendees, with extended hours to keep the fun going longer. The room includes fan-favorites like the CCG and Tabletop areas, along with the return of arcade machines, console gaming, and a new eSports-style arena for big plays on the big screen.

SacAnime has partnered with SAK Gaming — the largest esports and recreational gaming company in the Southwest — to bring console gaming to Player’s Paradise. Stop by the booth to register for casual and tournament gaming on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, or sign up for one of the tournaments running all weekend.

Swing by the tabletop area to hang out and play games from our board game library, try something new, or make some friends.

• Board Game Library — check out hundreds of new and classic board and card games at no cost; just bring some friends and play.
• Learn to Play events — staffers teach the latest and greatest tabletop games throughout the weekend.
• Gamer Social Hour — share your fandom, play games, and swap stories. All days at 4 PM.
• Pathfinder Society — official members run pre-generated campaigns, or bring your own characters, for players of all experience levels.
• D&D with the Sacramento Adventurers League — official organized play; bring existing AL characters or build something new.
• BYOG (Bring Your Own Game) — bring a game you’ve been dying to play or a design that needs playtesting and run it at your own pace.

Swing by the CCG Tournament table each day for information about daily tournaments. Events start promptly at the stated time, so please plan accordingly.

Magic: The Gathering Tournaments — Friday 2 PM, Saturday 12:30 PM, Sunday 12:30 PM. We host Commander or Standard formats depending on demand, so come prepared for either; sign-ups start at 10 AM and the event takes place in the tabletop space. Bring your own deck.

Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Boosters Draft Event (Bring your own 4 Boosters) — Saturday 4:00 PM. Come with 4 sealed Boosters of the Final Fantasy Set and be prepared for a fun casual draft event. The event takes place in the tabletop space, and there will be no product available for sale in that space — so hit the dealers hall first to grab your 4 boosters or bring your own.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournaments — Friday 1:00 PM, Saturday 12 PM, Sunday 12 PM.

Pokémon TCG (Official) Tournaments — Friday 2:30 PM, Saturday 1:30 PM, Sunday 12 PM. An official tournament using the standard Pokémon tournament system rules; sign-ups start at 10:00 AM. The event takes place in the tabletop space, so bring your own standard-format deck for a fun Pokémon experience complete with prizing. Loaner decks may be available, first come first served.
